The BJP has accused the Congress party of committing a sin by saying its leader, Tariq Hameed Karra, during the party’s CWC meeting, attributed Jawaharlal Nehru for J & K’s integration with India, claiming Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel wanted to keep the valley out .

BJP spokesman Sambit Patra asked if Congress President Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi had any objections when Karra “demonized†Patel and presented India’s first interior minister as a “bad guy†while praising Nehru.

In response to the BJP’s allegations, Tariq said, “I don’t know which circles are trying to misrepresent this. I read in a leading newspaper today that they misrepresented the facts. It has to be seen who said these things out there, it’s serious. “

“I had said that Pt Nehru had claimed that J&K belonged to India, he didn’t want it to be called a theocratic state like Pakistan in relation to Junagadh & Hyderabad instead.

But Nehru disagreed and said, “No, we don’t want India to be called a theocratic state like Pakistan,” added Tariq Hameed Karra.

“I said that when we started negotiating when a ‘two-nation’ plan came up,” he said.

Speaking at the convention, Patra said, “Has Karra been reprimanded? He will be removed from the CWC,” accusing Congress of continually insulting leaders like Subhas Chandra Bose, Patel and Hindutva ideologue Veer Savarkar.

Congress, he claimed, was reduced to a family party and was working to promote family rule.

“What kind of mindset is it that one family did everything and another did nothing. What the CWC did is a sin,” he said.

He noted that Karra also asked that Rahul Gandhi take over the office of President of Congress, while praising the contribution of the Nehru-Gandhi family and criticizing Patel.

“This is the height of sycophany,” he said.
