Iran has intelligence superiority in the Persian Gulf: IRGC naval chief


TEHERAN – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) navy commander said on Wednesday that Iran has the predominance of intelligence in the Persian Gulf and regional waters, noting that the armed forces of the IRGC and the army have the military capabilities of the Islamic Republic have demonstrated.

Admiral Alireza Tangsiri made the remarks while visiting the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Kerman, where the body of General Qassem Soleimani is buried.

The admiral said today that whenever American warships enter the Persian Gulf, they seek refuge in the southern waters of the Persian Gulf near the coasts of the Arab countries.

“We, as students of Haj Qassem, who were inspired by this great martyr, stood against the enemy” and an example of this is breaking off a move by the American forces that tried to steal a tanker that was carrying Iranian oil in early November. he explained.

Iran is celebrating the second anniversary of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, who was murdered in a US drone attack near Baghdad International Airport on January 2, 2020. General Soleimani, commonly known as “Haj Qassem”, was murdered on the direct orders of former US President Donald Trump.

Admiral Tangsiri said he and other IRGC Navy officials had the opportunity to attend the second anniversary of his ordeal in “Our Dear Commander’s Graveyard,” General Soleimani, and “pledge to continue on his path,” of “the people and the rulership.” supports”. of jurisprudence ”.
Pointing to the personality of General Soleimani, he said: “As the leader of the Islamic Revolution said, Haj Qassem was a school of thought … and a great and exemplary commander.”

Tangsiri stated that the Qassem Soleimani school should be kept alive and insisted that “the school of Haj Qassem was faithful to the rule of law and keep the resistance movement alive”.

The admiral said he had known General Soleimani since the Kheibar operation in 1984, during the Iraq war against Iran.

Noting that General Soleimani was so humble it was impossible to tell that he was a commander, he said, “This spirit of Haj Qassem did not persist even after the war ended (1988) and even when he was once slightly changed, promoted to major general and awarded the medal of Zolfaqar. “

Tangsiri went on to say that Soleimani inspired the spirit of bravery among the soldiers of the IRGC Navy before his martyrdom and that that spirit was strengthened after he was murdered.
