Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri made the remarks during a meeting with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Pakistan Army General Nadim Reza on Monday at the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff complex in Tehran.
In recent years, relations between Tehran and Islamabad have developed well thanks to the efforts of the two countries’ commanders and officials, General Bagheri said at the meeting, adding that these relations must be developed and continued.
Military relations between Iran and Pakistan have also seen significant growth in recent years, which has ensured the security and economic development of the two countries.
The region where the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan are located is very important and sensitive, he further noted.
According to him, recent regional developments have led to the intervention of foreign powers from outside the region, which has caused problems at the regional level.
He said that the Zionist regime is at the heart of insecurity and instability in the region, adding that the regime plans to establish ties with regional states and reach for troublesome targets.
The creation of Takfiri terrorist groups in the region, particularly in Syria and Iraq, is one of the interventions by the United States and the Zionist regime in the region, he explained.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that the Afghanistan issue is one of the most influential issues between Iran and Pakistan.
Given the situation in Afghanistan, participation and involvement of ethnic groups will play a constructive role in creating security and stability in the country’s future, Gen Bagheri said.
Elsewhere, he said that the Kashmir issue is another topic in the Islamic world and the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this regard is the same approach and attitude of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, which takes into account the support of the oppressed and Muslim people .
“Another issue in our region is the disaster in Yemen, which has been going on for a long time and must be ended immediately.”
According to the senior Iranian military official, the war between Russia and Ukraine will definitely affect the region and the whole world, and NATO’s expansion to Russia’s borders is a threat to its security, he also said, expressing hope that the parties who will solve problems and problems in dialogue.
Gen. Nadim Reza arrived in Tehran on Sunday at the official invitation of Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, aiming to expand bilateral cooperation to build lasting security in the region and strengthen military interactions and joint education and security cooperation.
The senior Pakistani military official is also scheduled to meet with other senior military officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
