In a message on Wednesday, Raisi condemned Tuesday’s incident at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and offered condolences to Hojjatoleslam Aslani’s martyrdom.
Here is the text of the message released by the President’s website:
“In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Yesterday’s incident at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), which is the sanctuary of all freedom-seeking people around the world regardless of their religion, resulted in the martyrdom of Hojjatoleslam Aslani and the injury of two other jihadist students Kummer.
He was one of the jihadi preachers of pure Islam whose work was closely watched by the Shias and Sunnis on the outskirts of the holy city of Mashhad.
Surely this unfortunate incident, committed by one of the dissenting elements and under the influence of the American takfiri groups, will bring more unity and cohesion among those interested in Islam and Islamic Iran and will bring disgrace to dissenting currents .
The Ministry of Intelligence, in cooperation with all institutions, is obliged to immediately identify and prosecute all perpetrators of this incident and inform the public of the outcome.
I offer my condolences on the martyrdom of the great martyr, his companions and friends and the seminary of Khorasan and I pray to Almighty God for him and wish the other two who were injured in this incident a speedy recovery.
