In a telephone conversation with his Turkmen counterpart Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday, President Raisi expressed his confidence that the trend in cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat will accelerate during the new Turkmen leader’s tenure.

Hailing the good progress made in cooperation between the two countries during the former Turkmen president’s tenure, including interaction in the gas industry, transportation and rail links, Raisi said such close cooperation will definitely continue.

President Raisi congratulated the Turkmen President and people on Eid al-Fitr and wished progress and sustained calm for the neighboring state and all nations of the world.

For his part, Berdimuhamedov wished the Iranian nation health, prosperity, development and prosperity.

Referring to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Turkmenistan and Iran, he said bilateral ties have been actively growing and developing in all areas.

Considering the available and different capacities, Turkmenistan is ready to do its utmost to accelerate the development of cooperation with Iran, the Turkmen President said, highlighting the role that the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission would play in this regard.
