No, McDonald’s food in the UK is not Halal.
However, in other countries where the majority of people are Muslim, McDonald’s has halal menus.
On the McDonald’s UK website, the company says it currently has no plans to include halal food on the menu at any UK McDonald’s restaurant.
Halal foods comply with Islamic laws as defined in the Koran.
Why doesn’t McDonald’s offer Halal food?
A spokesman for the fast food giant has revealed why UK McDonald’s does not offer halal food.
They said: “We actually did a halal trial at a restaurant in Southall.

“We realized that Halal certified food is popular with only a very small percentage of our customers and that it would require significant changes to our kitchen practices and supply chain to offer it in all of our restaurants.
“That is why we have decided against offering halal food in the UK for the time being.”
Which countries offer McDonald’s Halal Food?
Several Muslim-majority countries have certified McDonald’s as halal.
This is the case in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi locations serve the Spicy McChicken, McArabia and the Big Tasty, the latter of which is also available at some European locations.
