James Fisher AIS announces overhaul of R2S software for digital twins

Global digital services leader Asset Information Services (AIS), a James Fisher company, today announced the release of a major overhaul of its flagship R2S digital twin software following a successful field implementation at a long-standing customer.

The new version redesigned R2S as a browser-based, modular platform to improve accessibility and scalability, and to allow AIS to push regular, user-generated updates directly to project teams. R2S also now combines all visual layers of data into a single immersive window, improving the user experience and enriching users’ experience with their data.

Energy asset owners and operators—whether upstream or downstream, onshore or offshore—use R2S to develop a turnkey, data-rich digital twin of their assets in just twenty days, versus an industry standard of months or years. As the energy transition continues to evolve, digital twin technology is being recognized as a key tool for operators looking to maximize the efficiency and returns of their assets while protecting safety standards.

Martin MacRae, Head of Products, AIS: “R2S was helping operators create digital twins before most of us had even heard that phrase. Our digital twins are constantly evolving to meet user needs. From the beginning, it was about driving a lean, people-centric way of digital transformation that doesn’t require far-reaching IT requirements or hyper-specific product knowledge. This release takes that philosophy to the next logical step to create the most user friendly and accessible version of the platform that we could because this is ultimately what the industry needs. We appreciate the opportunity to support the energy industry as it transforms in the years to come and will continue to explore ways to overcome the barriers to digital adoption.”

Sean Huff, Managing Director, AIS: “AIS has deployed our R2S digital twin software to thousands of users worldwide, from Trinidad to Angola, Ivory Coast, Azerbaijan, US, UK and Indonesia, as well as international energy companies, national Governments, renewable energy developers and security services. As we launch the next iteration of our product, our goals are always the same – to deliver significant value to our customers while keeping users happy and engaged. It’s an exciting time for us – delivering the world’s best digital products coupled with high-quality, personalized, local service.”

The latest version of R2S is now commercially available and interested parties are encouraged to contact AIS directly or visit the website for more information.
