Leader Abdullah Öcalan says that Qaraar (he is my hidden soul) and the leader of the People’s Defense Forces, the HPG, Yasar Sarhad, said in a statement to Firat news agency: “The leader Abdullah Öcalan’s friendship with Qaraar is a decision and it was historical and sacred after Öcalan was released from prison, you know, starting with comrades Qaraar and Kemal Pir, where the two comrades said about the leader Öcalan (he came on the first day and became the owner of the house on the second day) within the Comradeship in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, Kemal Pir and Haqi’s friendship was a clear decision that affected the firm and confident stance of the leader Öcalan. The leader Öcalan says about comrade Kemal Pir (I talked to Kemal Pir for half an hour but he fought to the end) and says about Qaraar (he is my hidden soul).
The PKK assessed Haqi Qarar as follows: “Comrade Haqi carried his bed on his back and left the university last year. From the moment he realized the reality of the Kurdish revolution, he didn’t hesitate to go to our homeland, which he never knew, not even for a moment… No. Those who know him well forget that he wore the most elegant clothes and lived for months on lunches, which consisted of a simple breakfast and nothing else. He was the source of inspiration for those around him to overcome all obstacles. They raced to fight him.”
Who is Qaraar?
Qaraar is of Turkish origin, born in 1950 on the Black Sea in the Ordu-Olbay district. He attended elementary, middle and high school in Olbay District. Then he transferred to Ankara University where he was influenced by the revolutionary movement and met the leader Abdullah Öcalan and Kemal Pir. He assumed the role of coordinator of revolutionary higher education in Ankara in 1973 and took his place in the activities he started with the Kurdish revolutionaries. He is one of the first to implement the decision to return home made at the historic 1976 meeting. He fought in the ranks of the Kurdish people, especially among the working class first in Batman and later in Deluk.
On May 18, 1977, the leader Haqi was assassinated by Alaeddin Kaban, who was a spy among the left in Turkey during the March 12 period.
The martyrdom of leader Haqi was a turning point in the history of the Kurds, Kurdistan Region, democrats and believers in coexistence. The masses of the people are working for freedom, gaining victory over the enemy and liberating Kurdistan.” A year later, on November 27, 1978, in the village (Fis) near the city of Amed, the founding of the PKK was announced. And the revolutionary movement began across Kurdistan and then the armed struggle that continues to this day the face of Turkish aggression; May became known to the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the general people of Kurdistan as the month of martyrs in which many revolutionaries such as Haqqi Qaraar, Muhammad Qara Sangur and Ibrahim Bilgin were martyred.
The co-chairman of the People’s Congress, Ramzi Kartal, said in a statement to our agency that the Qaraar’s martyrdom was a decision that helped create the PKK, and he said: “There was no organization during that period. The group conducts trainings and after the martyrdom of Qaraar, the leader, Abdullah Öcalan, decided to start the organization.
Ramzi Kartal stated that the enemy recognized the presence of leader Abdullah’s group and that they were active, and in order to stop this activity, he was targeted. He said: “The leader recognized that this attack is aimed at the group and said that the appropriate response was to build an organization and take steps towards the freedom struggle.”
With the martyrdom of Qaraar, the line of treason in Kurdistan reemerged, represented by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, which since its inception and to this day has become a tool in the hands of the enemies of the Kurds and the Kurdish cause, starting with the Shah of Iran through to Saddam Hussein and the successive Turkish regimes. And the best example is his involvement now with Turkey in the attacks on the legitimate defense zones in Southern Kurdistan.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party maintains close ties with the secret services of the occupied countries
Ramzi Kartal pointed out that since ancient times there has been a strong relationship between Turkish intelligence and the Kurdistan Democratic Party: “The one who assassinated him was a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and he co-founded the so-called Red Star Organization aiming to assassinate him by a decision of the Turkish Secret Service (MIT).”
Kartal pointed out that there are strong connections and ties between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the intelligence services of the occupying countries of Kurdistan, as well as the Iranian, Iraqi and Syrian intelligence services, and the aim of these ties is to kickstart the struggle of the Kurdish people in these parts. Oni and his revolutionary companions from East Kurdistan were handed over to Iran with their bodies at the request of the Iranian state.
Ramzi Kartal noted that the KDP does not move as a political party but actually moves as a family party represented by the Barzanis family. Everything is in the hands of the family and said: “The KDP is run according to family interests.”
People’s Congress co-chairman Ramzi Kartal confirmed that the Barzani family has sacrificed everything in Kurdistan for their family interests and is making agreements with all occupying countries of Kurdistan.
The line of treachery must be eliminated
Ramzi Kartal pointed out that “the Barzani family has become a disaster affecting the Kurdish people.”
Addressing the cooperation and support that the Kurdistan Democratic Party is now giving to the Turkish occupying state, Ramzi Kartal said: “Now the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s betrayal, support and cooperation with the Turkish occupying state has become apparent to the Turkish occupying public and the Kurdish people. This betrayal, which threatens the achievements of the Kurdish people, must be denounced.”
Stressing the need to liquidate the line of treachery, Kartal said: “If this line is not liquidated, the path to solving the Kurdish question and the freedom of the Kurdish people will not be open, so the fight against this treachery must be escalated.” . To stand against the line of treason is to stand against the enemy himself.”
