It comes after it was revealed last month that Taylor “secretly married” Riyad late last year after previously proposing a ring worth £400,000.

The couple married in a Muslim ceremony known as a nikah and signed a contract to ensure they were legally married under Islamic law, The Sun reports.

Taylor confirmed she had married Riyad in an Instagram Story published in January and revealed the couple are now planning another ceremony in the UK to make their marriage legal at home.

The fashionista said the Arabic word “Qubool” three times a day, which translates to “I accept.”

A source told The Sun that Algerian-born Riyad and Taylor are “legally married under Islamic law following their ceremony late last year.”

“It was important for them as a couple to follow the traditions of his religion.

“The ceremony was short but sweet and got her on the way to her second wedding, which is sure to be the main event. Taylor and Riyad are so excited and very much in love.’

The couple marked their engagement in September in true footballer and then WAG-to-be style.

They threw a white party with their nearest and dearest, no holds barred with all the glittery trimmings.

The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in July last year, with Riyad reportedly proposing a ring worth £400,000.

The sportsman popped the question during the couple’s luxurious summer trip to Mykonos with their family and friends.

Taylor was dressed in bridal white for the occasion as she glittered in a sizzling sheer jumpsuit with lace appliques covering her modesty.

In her initial announcement last summer, Taylor shared two beloved snaps on Instagram and captioned the post, “Here’s a life for us.”

She wrote: “There is no one I would rather live this life with than a life of ours. I can’t wait to grow old together, by the way I said YES! I love you.’

Winger Riyad was previously married to Rita Johal for six years and has two daughters with his ex-wife.

A source told The Sun that Riyad went to great lengths to choose the perfect engagement ring for Taylor and had the £400,000 sparkler custom made.

Riyad’s ex-wife Rita, 28, previously blamed the footballer’s move to Manchester City for the failure of their marriage and claimed the Algerian sometimes struggled with the pressure of playing for a side of that size.

Mahrez joined City in 2018 for a transfer fee of £60million from Leicester, where he had played a central role in their 2016 Premier League triumph.

Speaking to The Sun last August, Rita commented that “Riyad has made fame go to his head. He changed when he went to Manchester City. The Riyad I met is a different person than he is now. He parties, he acts like a blitz footballer.”

“I don’t hate him, that’s a strong word, but I’m shocked and saddened by what he has done.

“He suddenly left me, blaming the pressure of playing at Manchester City. Now he spends all his time carefree jetting around on vacation.”

Johal and Mahrez met in London in 2014 and married after just four months.
