WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
I came across this story about a Princeton incident on Facebook last week and I want to share it with you.
Laura Gatewood posted:
“On the way home tonight (November 9, 2021), a car stopped on 1st Street and the Rum River light was pulled up with the hood up. My stepson Tanner was with me and said,” Let’s find out if he needs help. ” (While many vehicles were moving.) So I turned around and stopped and asked the man if he needed help, the man said his car suddenly stopped and wouldn’t start.
Another vehicle pulled up at this point, and both he and my stepson said they were pushing the vehicle out of the busy intersection. While they were doing this, another vehicle stopped and a person from that vehicle ran over to help push the vehicle aside. The men had to push it through the passers-by as most did not stop or simply had it removed from the street. While they were maneuvering this vehicle, another gentleman rushed over to help, and they finally made it out of the busy intersection.
What I witnessed tonight warmed my heart to see these good men trying to help an elderly gentleman in a difficult situation and what could have been a dangerous situation in the middle of the street while many others just drove by.
Although I don’t know the other men who helped tonight, I wanted to personally thank them for their kindness, not just for helping with this man’s car, but also for being kind to the elderly gentleman and the respect you showed him everyone responded when they shook hands with him, he wanted to pay you to help him. Much respect to everyone. “~ Laura Gatewood
THANK YOU FOR POSTING
Laura, thank you for posting this so we can read. For those who didn’t think of quitting, it may make them think about what a little act of kindness can do for someone who really needs it.
There were so many wonderful, heartfelt comments on Laura’s post that I thought it was worth sharing. I think we could all use a little warmth right now, and hope this story of kindness will inspire you to do the same.
