Munkaila Ahmadu, the man who killed his parents in Jigawa State, has told police he committed the crime as a form of jihad.
The suspect, a resident of Zarada-Sabuwa village in Gagarawa LGA in Jigawa state, used a wooden pestle to attack his father, Ahmad Muhammad, 70, the village chief of Zarada-Sabuwa village, and his mother, Hauwa Ahmadu. 60 while also attacking Kailu Badugu, 65, and Hakalima Ahmadu, 50.
Speaking to journalists, Jigawa State Police spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam said the suspect admitted to the crime and showed no remorse.
He said the suspect, who is a teacher at an Islamic school in the state, was not under the influence of drugs at the time.
According to the police spokesman, the suspect said that his parents liked to mock him when he performed his religious rites.
“He’s a teacher at an Islamic school, sensible, has nothing to do with drugs, not even kola nut.
During the interrogation, the suspect kept saying he made jihad, he made jihad, he is on the right track, they (victims) are not human,” the police spokesman said
The rep added that the suspect went on to reveal that his parents used to call him a maniac.
“He told police investigators that this and other reasons led him to kill her. He said he had no regrets and was ready to face any law,” he added
