Fox News host says Trump must ‘learn to lose’

The House special committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot has asked Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy for “voluntary cooperation” over information about his talks with former President Donald Trump during the worst attack on the Capitol since 1814 to provide.

However, McCarthy has refused to cooperate with the committee in a statement hours after the request, citing the panel’s “illegitimate” investigation.

Liz Cheney, one of the only two Republicans on the panel, said her party’s House Speaker is trying to “cover up” what happened on Jan. 6, 2021, and that the committee will be exploring other options to obtain his testimony. “I wish he was a brave and honorable man,” she told CNN.

This comes after Trump made headlines for tabbing an NPR journalist who challenged him with questions about the Capitol riot and his fixation on nonexistent 2020 voter fraud. He also drew attention with an interview in which he scorned Republicans who refused to say whether or not they were vaccinated against Covid-19.
